Git – Ignore file format

ref : https://help.github.com/articles/ignoring-files
A global .gitignore file can also be used by adding one to your global git config. For example, you might create the file ~/.gitignore_global and add some rules to it. To add this to your config, run git config –global core.excludesfile ~/.gitignore_global

Some good rules to add to this file:

[code]
# Compiled source #
###################
*.com
*.class
*.dll
*.exe
*.o
*.so

# Packages #

# it’s better to unpack these files and commit the raw source
# git has its own built in compression methods
*.7z
*.dmg
*.gz
*.iso
*.jar
*.rar
*.tar
*.zip

# Logs and databases #

*.log
*.sql
*.sqlite

# OS generated files #
